Vice magazine wrote a long article this month about Ricardo Dominguez and the b.a.n.g. lab. The article covers numerous Border Disturbance Art projects but focuses on the Transborder Immigrant Tool. We’ve been getting a lot of good feedback from this article, so thanks! It is really fantastic to see your film and we at bang.lab will work to see if we can bring to our community.
Best,

USA - photographer / migrants

There’s a fine gentleman named Victor Cobo [ Website: victorcobo.com Email: photo@victorcobo.com] a brilliant San Francisco photographer and a dear friend to me who has spent the better part of his career documenting the lives of those individuals whose lives are often forgotten in the fray. He has walked from Michocan to the Texas border with these daring individuals who risk everything for a chance at basic quality of life for themselves and their family. He is, in my estimation, a man, well versed on the experience of being an immigrant, and has documented it thoroughly and would prove to be an excellent resource.

As for me, I am originally from Kenya; an immigrant who understands the significance of rights…

Brighton / Brazil - Creating our own reality

Inspired by the thought that we are constantly creating our reality, a group of friends from Brighton with connections in Bahia, Brazil, decided to make a dream happen. Twelve people each put money towards buying a farm in Brazil to create a place for sustainable living; a place where the water is sourced from a spring and the earth is fruitful, a place for livin’ good… And so one day we found ourselves the “owners” of a chocolate farm…Inspired by the idea of collective ownership practised by many indigenous tribes we created an organization to hold the ownership of the land and included local workers in the collective. We try and promote the idea of steward ship of the land…
