My name is Giovanni Navarro, I am 18 years of age, and my story of resistance began when I was only 13 years old. When my sister and I were brought to the United States from Tijuana, Mexico back in 1998, we were taken in by the family of my stepfather who in that time was married with my biological mother. There I lived with the family who consistently used us as servants or maids. Even though I was given a home to live in, and food to eat, I lacked love and understanding.
