MARC SILVER - DIRECTOR & PROJECT STRATEGIST

In 1999 as one of the pioneer directors to use digital video as a means of telling stories that otherwise could not be told, Marc made a seminal film on the anti-globalisation movement for the BBC called Global Protest. Marc went on to direct films for other broadcasters including the first critical film on the Burning Man festival commissioned by Channel 4, as well as a documentary about genetic engineering and indigenous people. Marc went on to explore new ways of integrating the moving image with other mediums collaborating with some of the world’s most interesting contemporary artists including Matthew Herbert, Faithless, Nitin Sawhney, The Beastie Boys, Michael Nyman, Ben Okri, Cirque du Soleil and Jamie Cullum. Projects ranged from creative directing to directing visual albums, digital content and live concerts. He has recently been commissioned to create 2 solo video art installations about sex and repression, and finding peace in a world of chaos. Marc is also directing a 5 year documentary project set within the neighbourhoods of the London olympics.

THOMAS BENSKI - PRODUCER

Thomas set up Pulse Films in 2004 because he felt there was no company that combined an understanding of media convergence and quality film-making. It is a place where directors and writers can maximise commercial opportunities whilst retaining creative integrity. As a boutique management and production company Pulse nurtures and aggregates talents to create uniquely scalable and adaptable content for different platforms reaching across the whole media landscape.

The company is made up of a team of dynamic, innovative and socially engaged content creators and producers who are passionate about finding ways to use popular culture, mass media, music and art for social change. Pulse was the natural home for Resist because of it’s unique understanding of multi-platform content creation, filmmaking, user generated content, open source development and campaigning. Pulse’s approach to developing projects perfectly suits the ambition and aims of the Resist film and site.
